Parkinson's disease - Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a long-term degenerative disorder that is commonly recognized as a motor-control disorder, impacting movement of muscles and limbs. The motor symptoms of PD result from the death of cells in a region of the midbrain. It is not only a motor control problem, however, with cognitive decline and dementia among the most common non-motor symptoms. Cognitive changes can occur in the early stages of the disease, sometimes before diagnosis.
