BrainsCAN Mitacs Partnership
BrainsCAN and Mitacs have partnered to support neuroscience researchers, supported by BrainsCAN, who are working to change the way brain diseases and disorders are understood, diagnosed, and treated. Mitacs is a national, not-for-profit organization that helps build partnerships between academia, industry, and the world – to create a more innovative Canada.
Through this partnership, BrainsCAN and Mitacs will offer unique training and fellowship opportunities to foster collaboration and knowledge mobilization of BrainsCAN’s innovative research. This partnership will enable BrainsCAN faculty, post-doctoral researchers, and full-time graduate students to benefit from Mitacs programs by tapping into BrainsCAN's growing network of industry, community and international academic partners. Through this partnership, BrainsCAN researchers will benefit from increased support for business development and collaboration.
Supporting Collaboration with Industry or Community Partners
- Mitacs Accelerate
Mitacs Accelerate supports collaborative research between BrainsCAN faulty, a non-academic partner (Canadian or international industry, or eligible NFPs), and a research intern (full time graduate students or post-doctoral researchers). Faculty get flexible funding for new collaborations, experiential training for your trainees, and a grant starting at $15,000. - Mitacs Elevate
Mitacs Elevate supports the career development of postdoctoral fellows through Canada’s only customized research management training program. Throughout a two-year fellowship, postdoctoral fellows hone their research and professional skills while applying them to a complex project with a partner organization.
