Keyword: miniscopes

Miniscopes - these are miniature microscopes used in neuroscience research. They detect fluorescence in the brain, which is the emission of light during neural activity. They are small and light enough that they can be used with awake and freely moving subjects. This allows the subjects to roam around unencumbered - behavior and brain activity can be studied directly.
